Abstract
In this study, it is shown that an L-band optical signal can be ail-optically switched in an L-band loop EDFA using a C band control signal. In an L-band EDFA designed using loop configuration, a significant improvement can be achieved in gain and NF performance. Optical and electrical performance of the all-optical switching system realized is within the acceptible levels and has an advantage of operation in low control signal powers less than 1 mW in C band.
