Abstract :
In this paper, we investigated the stochastic properties of the binary channel that describes successes and failures of the packet transmission in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system with maximal ratio combining (MRC) in a Rayleigh fading channel. Using the finite state Markov channel (FSMC) model, we estimated the probability of any pattern in the packet error sequence at the MIMO-MRC output. It is shown that the packet error description can be improved using the block Markov model (BMM), with parameters obtained from the FSMC.
