  • Abstract
In this report we suggest and demonstrate that a uniform LPGs can serve as a device that converts a phase-modulated signal at 160 GHz to amplitude-modulated signal at 160 GHz. In our particular implementation, an input pulse train at the wavelength of 1571 nm is converted to a train of 2-ps long pulses at the wavelength of 1552 nm using SOA with a gain recovery time of 25 ps and an LPG filter designed and realized to provide the required pi-phase shift over its notch in transmission.
