Abstract :
The paper presents computational studies of working medium dynamics in a coaxial accelerator used in the surface engineering for impulse plasma deposition (IPD). Plasma discharge has been investigated with a two-dimensional mono-fluidic snow plow model and a two-dimensional two-fluid magnetohydrodynamic code. Numerical simulations have significantly increased the understanding of phenomena during the process. Analysis of the computational results indicates the direction of the optimization changes in the device design.
