Abstract :
The acousto-optic diffraction by the bulk acoustic wave radiated from an interdigital transducer (IDT) at leaky surface acoustic wave resonance in ZX-LiNbO3 was studied The direction angles of interacting waves were calculated, and the measurements of time, frequency, and angular dependencies of the acousto-optic signals were performed in the range of acoustic frequencies 70-190 MHz at optical wavelength 633 nm. This approach combines benefits of planar IDT technology with the enhanced interaction length and efficiency of bulk-wave-type interaction.
