  • Abstract
SEMCAD is an electromagnetic simulation platform based on the finite difference time domain method, FDTD, with an especial feature of calculating specific absorption rate, SAR. SAR is a value corresponding to the power absorbed by the human tissue while exposed to microwave radiation. For antenna designers and cellular phone companies, this value is limited and consequently it is an important parameter in the antenna design process.
