Abstract
Decomposition of the textile dye direct blue 106 by the diaphragm discharge and compares them with the data achieved by pure electrolysis is presented. A significant role of electrochemical reactions is taken into account (discharge current through the reactor of 100-200 mA) as the constant DC voltage of about 2 kV was used for discharge creation. Result confirmed that a significant contribution of electrochemical reactions on the dye decomposition during the DC diaphragm discharge. Almost thirty percent decoloration enhancement was observed when the effect is in the anode space. The decomposition by both discharge and electrolysis was dependent on the supported electrolyte, as well as on its concentration in the dye solution.
