Abstract
Many important problems that can be solved with theuse of computers require significant amount of various resources. A multicomputer could meet this requirement. However, such a system needs software and hardware supportto work efficiently. Scalable Distributed Data Structure(SDDS) is an application for a multicomputer that allowsfor efficient management of data. In the paper it is shownthat SDDS can be efficiently implemented on operationallevel of the multicomputer. Advantages and disadvantagesof such an approach are discussed. The main contributionof this paper is an architecture of SDDS for Linux-basedmulticomputer and its implementation. Results of performancetest for transactional database system which uses theimplementation are given, too.
