Abstract :
Wnt signaling pathways play roles in many developmental processes such as, cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and regulation of cell polarity. Disorders in Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway members are known to cause many different cancer types. On the other hand, it has been reported that Wnt/Calcium signaling pathway can inhibit Wnt/beta-catenin pathway, therefore it can act as tumor suppressor. In the present work we only report the homologs of the three main proteins of the Human Wnt/Calcium signaling pathway. Furthermore, nematode homologs found are investigated for the ultimate goal of using C. elegans as a model organism in future experimental studies on Wnt/Ca+2 signaling.
