  • Abstract
    ▪ We have analized not only the worth of a specific temporal pooling method but also its influence on different quality metrics ▪ Proper choice of the pooling method can significantly improve prediction capability of a video quality metric ▪ The best results → pooling methods which incorporate a high influence of most degraded part of a sequence on the observers judgement, as well as that observers are strongly influenced by what they see in the last section of the sequence → exponentially-weighted Minkowski summation and the mean value of the last F frames ▪ The metric which gives frames scores in a narrow dynamic range (SSIM), the pooling method does not influence the overall sequence quality score at all
