Abstract
Present paper defines a new methodology proposal for the study of the viability of using specific networking technologies for the broadcasted broadband (High-Definition) services in home and Extended-home redistribution. A new method for the formulation of the QoS response of the network will be presented based on the parameters that will affect in a direct way to the network behavior. This way, it will be categorized the goodness of any heterogeneous segment to redistribute high requirements contents (i.e. HDTV). A deep state of the art analysis around the different technologies that allow the disposal of an Extended-Home backbone based on no-new-wires paradigm and low-cost infrastructures is presented. Afterwards, and as the fundamental focus of the presented paper, the study of a new methodology that allows the characterization of different proposed networking technologies is presented. Afterwards results from the experimentation phase are justified.
