Abstract :
In this study, wavelet based analysis of underwater ambient noise data collected in the Strait of Istanbul by the ITU underwater ambient noise measurement and recording system are presented. First the variances of the wavelet coefficients of underwater ambient noise data, which was recorded when there was no ship in sight, are shown. Then the same analysis is done for the data sets collected during the presence of various ships passing nearby the hydrophone array. The results are compared.
