Abstract
An electron synchrotron is the most universally usable type of accelerator, constituting an intensive source of light with unique features. It is used for advanced experiments, thanks to which it is possible to gain unique information on behaviour of matter on molecular and atomic levels. Data provided by synchrotrons are important for the competitiveness of the future industry in the EU. They will be employed for example for the development of new pharmaceuticals, advanced materials and nanotechnologies and in the advanced environmental analyses. In this text we report on the layout and description of the accelerator complex of CESLAB. This includes the electron source, linear accelerator, booster, and the storage ring, as well as the background facility. Several tables and figures concerning the accelerator parameters are given. An exhaustive and detailed study of the complex will be presented in the Conceptual Design Study of CESLAB, the first release of which is currently in the final stage of preparation.
