Abstract :
A model for excitation system testing is presented. An excitation system is primary control of the synchronous generator which feeds field current into the field winding of the generator. Right function of the excitation systems is necessary for the conversion of the turbine mechanical power supplied to the generator shaft into generator electrical power. The model described in the article is a device which has same values on its inputs and outputs as the inputs and outputs of the measuring part of the excitation system and generator.
