Abstract :
Fault management covers detection isolation and correction of unusual operational behavior of telecommunication network. Alarms are unsolicited messages received from network elements or network element management systems carrying information about malfunction location, type and other relevant information. In this paper we have made review of alarm classification that leads us to low-level filtration. Why it is necessary? Number of alarms coming from complex telecommunication network may overwhelm network operator and operator is unable to detect problem root-cause. Instead presenting to operator number of alarms, it is reasonable to filter alarms at low and high level. First step to low-level filtration is recognition of specific alarm samples that can be detected by specific filters.
