Abstract :
In this paper, the factors which influence the operation of triggered vacuum gaps (TVG) in the negative mode of the main gap are investigated. From the results, it is shown that the surface condition of the main gap is related to the operational history of the TVG. The delay time in this mode is strongly influenced by the trigger plasma build-up time.
