Abstract :
In this paper we study the accuracy of arbitrary subdomain reconstruction within finite element numerical simulations. We observe the influence of several parameters used to configure the boundary conditions at the reconstructed subdomain and how they shape the accuracy of the reconstructed values. We study several interpolation algorithms and different resolutions for the original and for the reconstructed simulation. We discuss our findings compared to real theoretical behavior and we summarize the circumstances, and parameters that have an impact on reconstructing arbitrary subdomains within finite element numerical simulations.
