Abstract
In the first part of the article we deal with the main concepts relating to the innovation systems and we further illustrate some remarkable systems of innovation on account of its efficacy given the definition of strategies and supporting areas allowing for the shaping of several policy aspects. Finally, we set forth a series of guidelines on good policy practices and elements that must be taken into account to define the innovation policy in Mexico.
