Abstract
3D video has been widely studied in recent years from a technical point of view, but the related quality assessment does not follow this enthusiasm. The aim of the paper is to explore the impact of 2D image quality on perceived stereo depth sense. Original left and right images are impaired by additive salt and pepper noise with different noise density. Subjective depth sense evaluation is performed based on common LCD monitor of PC with the red/green glasses. Assessment criteria and procedure are proposed for perceived depth evaluation. Experimental results reveal the relationship between image PSNR value and the perceived depth.
