  • Abstract
To analyze the economic aspects of e-business means to asses the contribution of information-communication technologies (ICT) to economic growth and higher productivity of companies. On one side, analysis on micro-level proves strategic importance of e-business for companies, while, on the other side, macro-economic analysis indicate just modest effects on industry productivity and growth levels. Following factors are analyzed: educated work force impact, organizational changes, ICT effects connected with competition level and readiness for innovation and experiments, as well as, the impact of the company size. E-business application and ICTs profoundly change how creative activity is undertaken with potentially major impacts on company innovation and growth. They foster new types of market-based entrepreneurship and encourage people outside traditional institutions and hierarchies to collaborate and produce content, services and goods. Science becomes more closely linked to business and facilitates the development of informal creative networks.
