  • Abstract
The paper deals with economic connections in the complex view of a building life cycle. Approaches for considering individual benefits and costs occurring in connection with building construction, use and demolition are characterized here. The basic approach is the BLCC (Building Life Cycle Costs) method, subsequently supplemented with the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method that also provides for environmental impacts. The WLC (Whole Life Costs) method is derived at the end of the paper, comprising all relevant current and future costs and benefits in the building efficiency assessment.
