Abstract
This paper presents the application of a reconfigurable matching network (RMN) to improve the efficiency and linearity of an RF power amplifier under load impedance variations. Unlike dynamic load modulation technique, in this paper we consider the state of the RMN remains the same with the input power, but changes depending on the load impedance, a changing parameter in mobile environments. Simulations show relevant improvements in adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) and efficiency for arbitrary load impedances.
