Sub-pixel approach to detection of significantly blurred edges

In this paper problem of edge detection is considered. Especially method for determining location of significantly blurred edges is proposed. The method is sub-pixel approach which approximates edge position based on Sobel-gradient image. Results of applying the proposed method to images of heat-emitting specimens of metals and alloys are presented and discussed.
