Abstract
Since fossil-based fuels are used for generation of electrical energy, these generation units case environmental pollution. Therefore, environmental pollution, should be taken into consideration when energy problems are solved. Such kind of problems that take the environmental pollution into consideration are called environmental economic power dispatch problems. In this study, economic power dispatch problem has been turned into single purpose optimization problem by using the weighted sum method. For the solution of this problem differential evolution algorithm (DEA) method has been used. For the application of differential evolution algorithm IEEE test system with 6 generators 30 buses has been selected. Optimum solutions of the problem have been optained for different weights (w) and results have been discussed .
