  • Abstract
This paper presents a feedback linearization approach for high performance induction motor control. The principle of the method is discussed and compared with the most popular AC motor drive technology field oriented control technique. The main features and advantages of the above control systems are presented. The sliding mode implementation to a linearized system is shown as well. This approach shows how to avoid the modulator block and gives the possibility to directly control inverter switches. In this paper the methods of sliding mode application to a linearized induction motor are presented and discussed. The simulation results in steady and transient states are shown and compared. Finally the properties of these methods are presented and the advantages and disadvantages of variable structure controllers are summarized.
