Abstract
The paper presents a brief overview of present reference channel models, showing that the term “stochastic (or stochastic based) channel model” is in literature colloquially established as de facto synonymous to the “reference channel model”, i.e. a method for testing new wireless communication systems on realistic channel representations. In connection with this phenomenon or not, stochastic based channel models have been established as nearly exclusive option for test channel models. This paper suggests an alternative in a form of a pool of deterministic real channels and discusses its advantages and drawbacks.
