Abstract :
The motivation of this paper is to compare several different numerical acceleration approaches when used in the analysis of conformal antenna arrays. The analysis is performed in spectral domain using method of moments and it is critical to have a fast summation algorithm when performing the inverse Fourier transformation. The convergence properties of these sums and the application of numerous acceleration algorithms have been extensively investigated for planar structures. However, conformal structures present a different problem on which we are focusing here. Considered series acceleration algorithms are weighted averages method, Wynn´s ε-algorithm and θ-algorithm. Each of them has been applied directly to the series problem, and also to the modified problem involving only the series extremes. The obtained results have been compared to the original non-accelerated series results showing quite different results, but pointing out that the use of only the series extremes is well justified.
