Abstract :
The electroencephalography (EEG) is a medical diagnosis technique that measures the electrical brain activity. It is a test that provides evidence of how the brain functions, in real time. The EEG is primarily use for diagnosis, detect and localize cerebral brain lesions, aid in the studying of epilepsy, diagnosing mental disorders, and allowing observation and analysis of brain responses to sensory stimuli. The purpose of this paper is to presents a LabVIEW application - "Virtual electroencephalography acquisition" - that is aimed to help to simulate different EEG signals and topography of the electric activity of the brain. Through this application we will have the possibility to chance different characteristics of the EEG acquisition thanks to a control panel that includes: signal generator, signal amplitude, number of electrodes, the amplifier, the filter, and the sample. This will lead to another study that will realize an EEG mapping to see which are the brain regions with the highest electrical activity during epileptic crisis.
