Abstract
A low-energy CMOS Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC dedicated for use in wireless sensor networks is presented. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are built with individual nodes which sense, compute and communicate, and operate with extremely limited energy. The crucial component of such network nodes is an ADC which acts as interface between monitored environment and WSN. Paper presents simple, small, accurate and efficient fully differential bipolar CMOS SAR ADC design which uses simple error compensation techniques and avoids any hard achieving requirements on its building blocks.
