The article is based on the research of authors with sound experience in education of Physics and ICT at the secondary schools as well as at the university. Research was oriented on possessed knowledge and skills analysis and the e-learning influence on their development or application. The question of preferred knowledge, skills and competencies is and was influenced by the needs of the market. The universities should prepare students that on one hand gain wide employability and on the other hand have deep knowledge in specific area. Those are in fact very antagonistic demands that could end in underestimation of “essential” competencies at the expense of specific competencies following instantaneous nowadays´ demands. Today, more than before, we look for creative people that are able to invent and realize nonstandard solutions - innovations. Above mentioned is the reason why we talk about competencies and skills. We should also critically evaluate what kind of the skill and competencies, according society demand, is effective to develop with the usage of ICTs.
