Abstract :
The problem of identifying a switched linear system from a finite number of samples of its impulse response is considered. A recursive method originally developed for the partial realization of discrete time systems is adopted to detect mode changes of the switched system and to identify each mode. Assuming that the orders of the modes are known, identifiability conditions are derived which lead to a lower bound on the dwell time of the modes.
