Abstract
In Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems information is carried in very short pulses, covering extremely wide spectrum bandwidth. Waveform of these elementary pulses, called monocycles, essentially impacts the performance of complete system. In this paper we describe one novel class of monocycles, called coded monocycles, which is based on employing direct-sequence spread spectrum technique. Application of coded monocycles within UWB systems results in several benefits, especially when used for military communications.
