Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) typically consists of large number of small, low-cost battery powered wireless nodes that are used together for monitoring some environmental variables (e.g. temperature, humidity, etc.) In order to increase system lifetime, it is of critical importance to preserve energy. Thus, we investigate ways to decrease power consumption of every node in decision making scenarios by decreasing the amount of network traffic, without compromising system reliability. To achieve these goals, we improve decision making in terms of communication overhead reduction in the network by applying local auctions and involve fuzzy logic in localized decision making process.
