Abstract
In this paper, software implementation of most commonly used data compression algorithms is described. The application is developed in programming language Delphi 6, it allow testing of Shannon Fano, static and dynamic Huffman as well as Lempel Ziv algorithm. As a result of the application, efficiency and compression level of chosen algorithm is calculated, and comparative analysis of multiple algorithms for the same data sequence is also allowed. User can enter data and read the results using graphic user interface. In order to illustrate the application options, the corresponding numerical results are presented and compared with the results obtained by using commercial data compression tools.
