Abstract :
In this paper we consider the development of wideband direction finder for VHF/UHF frequency band, taking into account the number of antenna elements in the antenna array, and the number of RF channels in the wideband receivers. Two variants of the wideband direction finder have been considered. In the first case, the number of RF channels is equal to number of antenna elements in the antenna array (parallel data acquisition). In the second case, the number of RF channels is lower than the number of antenna elements in the antenna array (sequential data acquisition). In order to compare these two variants, root mean square error of direction of arrival has been calculated. Some simulation are performed in MATLAB and results are shown in this work.
