Abstract
Real-time microkernel implementation details and concepts for small-memory embedded system are presented in this paper. Based on the analysis of the standard embedded system functional specification, new hybrid scheduling algorithm was introduced. Proposed scheduling algorithm is tuned for task model defined for standard embedded application and combines the advantages of static and dynamic scheduling concepts. Microkernel implementation provides the possibility to adjust the system and application task behavior to the concrete application simultaneously improving the system performance. Designed microkernel performance evaluation and its comparison with other available realtime microkernels were also presented.
