Abstract
This research aims to determine the boundaries of typical/atypical duration of phonemes /š/,/č/, /ž/, /dž/, /c/ /r/, /1/ based on identification functions of probability of perceptual detection of typical/atypical duration. These phonemes are located in initial position in isolated words /šuma/ (forest), /čelo/ (forehead), /žaba/ (frog), /džep/ (pocket), /cica/ (no translation), /riba/ (fish), /lice/ (face), respectively. Series of tests were conducted in which experts in speech-language pathology gave their opinions on typical duration of stimulus which were pre-modified with Praat software package. The results obtained in the form of ranges of typical duration of the analyzed phonemes will improve speech and language practice.
