Abstract
A professional speech therapist is able to correctly perceive and evaluate atypical pronunciation. A sound changes, that perceives speech therapist, are also present in the spectral domain, but it is not easy to determine it. Finding suitable spectral parameters for speech quality assessment is necessary to simplify the work of speech therapist and to objectify his laborious work. The paper analyzes the long time average spectrum of fricative /Š/ as an important indicator of the quality of setting friction barrier. It is shown that, depending on the relationship of high-frequency and low-frequency energy of speech, fricative pronunciation can be evaluated.
