Effects of the 3D model geometric region curvature to a topological structure simplification

The development of internet technology and increasing data transfer speed increasing also a mass use of high-quality multimedia contents that include three-dimensional (3D) models and animated sequences. This paper analyzes the resistance of the 3D model geometric structure simplification by comparing the invariance ratio of the rough and smooth surfaces regions. The results on topological degradation and degeneration of the region curvature criteria shows that the rough regions of three-dimensional models are more suitable for carrying and storing information.
