Abstract
We propose a new cochannel information based dynamic channel assignment (CDCA) strategy for small and microcell systems. We also propose a new group dynamic channel assignment (GDCA) strategy which handles multichannel traffic in wireless network. The performance characteristics of CDCA and GDCA strategies under different loading conditions are presented by using a simulation model. The simulation results show that the CDCA strategy performs well in small and microcell systems and the GDCA strategy performs well in multichannel traffic environment.
