Abstract :
Hybrid stepper motor drives are becoming increasingly sophisticated with complex control and observation real-time algorithms. Many of these algorithms, such as sensorless position detection, require precise motor models. The standard model normally used in real-time algorithms is not always able to model hybrid stepper motors sufficiently precisely. In this paper new extension are made to the electrical model to improve its performance whilst maintaining relatively low computational complexity.
