Abstract
In the last few years biologically inspired engineering has acquired an increased interest in developing new technical solutions for medicine, industry and all other fields related to biology. Based on previous research, this paper presents an enhanced proof of concept for a bio-inspired obstacle avoidance system that could be used as guidance for blind people or people with visual disabilities to move free in a real environment. The improvement is related with a new method for selecting only parts from the entire visual field which are essential and a decision block based on fuzzy logic behavior.
