Integration of Skype client and performance analysts on television platform

Focus of this paper is to analyze complexity of implementation Skype client on modern digital television platform. Considering popularity of Skype platform this is one of the features most user would prefer to have available on their TV sets. Main goal of this paper is to determine what impact Skype has on resources, which are very limited in television, and to designate if one average television platform meets the requirements. Additionally, this paper is demonstrating one way to implement Skype client in existing television software stack as independent module. Implemented features are covering chat, user management and voice calls. Complete concept has been successfully implemented, tested and measured on real platform used in commercial television set.
