Cultural influence on the intellectual honesty and fairness of the German and Croatian students

Looking back for the last months it can be noted that the cases of the intellectual fraud and academic dishonesty become a sad truth in Germany as well as in Croatia. If one compares the trend of the named countries with the trend towards the intellectual deception or to the level of the intellectual honesty and fairness at the universities of the some anglo-saxon countries, so one can find out that in particular in the university area, a difference is recognizably in the favour of intellectual honesty and fairness of some anglo-saxon countries. This work investigates the cultural differences and similarities of Germany and Croatia comparing them with the Australia as representative of one anglo-saxon country in regard to an intellectual fraud and examines the possibilities of avoidance of academic dishonesty. The limitations of the plagiarism software often used at the colleges or universities are mentioned. In addition, the applications of further possible means against intellectual deception cases are discussed.
