Abstract :
This work will outline the endeavours taken in the attempt of modelling the behaviour of a generator in an OWC with the aim of obtaining in-service load profile. Temperature and voltage stress-levels are calculated using mathematical models. These models, in conjunction with a chosen deterioration model of the electrical insulation systems, are used to predict the life of the generator. The paper then proposes power management strategies to extend the working life of the machine in case no maintenance is possible.
