Abstract :
Due to their high efficiency and reliability, permanent magnet synchronous machines are widely used in automotive applications. The present paper deals with the design and analysis of a special topology of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) suited for integrated starter-alternator (ISA). A preliminary design procedure is presented and the results are introduced in FEM based software in order to analyze the performances of the machine.
