Ultra wideband square planar monopole antenna with V-shaped coupling elements

Planar monopole antennas have many advantages. They are compact, low-profile and low-cost. There are several techniques to increase their bandwidth easily. In this paper, a novel technique to increase the bandwidth of a square planar monopole antenna with V-shaped coupling elements is presented. It is shown that V-shaped coupling elements improve the bandwidth without changing the radiation pattern of the antenna.
