Abstract :
State-of-the-art one-dimensional subband transformation based compression methods with high compression ratio require large memory with huge bus bandwidth, which increases consumed power. This paper presents novel method for significantly decreasing required subband transformer memory size to a minimum, thus enabling encoder or decoder execution from the cache memory. This solution can be implemented either in hardware or software or their combination, together with various methods of lossless and lossy compression and decompression.
