Abstract
In this paper low frequency transient response of a class of compensated non-contact current transducers is analyzed. Due to the compensation of the core flux, the measurement frequency range is extended from dc to several hundreds of kilohertz. Significant improvements in the transducer linearity and temperature stability are also obtained. Transfer function of the transducer is derived, indicating impact of the burden resistor on the transducer transient response. Experimental results on a laboratory prototype are presented.
