Abstract :
This paper describes a new transition-domain-based design procedure for delay-insensitive (DI) control circuits. First, high-level specification of a circuit behaviour is translated into the event-based low-level specification. After that, by applying a few simple rules, the low-level specification is directly mapped into the circuit structure. Design of a ring-arbiter´s basic cell is used as an illustrative example which shows simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed procedure.
